The exact ingredients of Play-Doh Classic Compound are proprietary, so we cannot share them with you. We can tell you that it is primarily a mixture of water, salt and flour. Play-Doh Classic Compound is not a food item and is not manufactured in a facility that manufactures food. The formula does NOT contain boron compounds (e.g. Borax, Boric acid... etc.), peanuts, peanut oil, nuts or any milk byproducts, but it DOES contain wheat. Play-Doh is not intended to be eaten.
Play-Doh Classic Compound is LHAMA certified non-toxic. Children who are allergic to wheat may have an allergic reaction to this product. Everyone is different, so if you have a specific concern around ingredients, please reach out to Consumer Care. Also, due to the high salt content in Play-Doh Classic Compound, the product can be harmful to pets if ingested. There is no SDS sheet required for Play-Doh compound.
Play-Doh compound is designed to use over and over again. If allowed to harden (to preserve a creation) it will most likely crack.
Look for oven curable clay at your local craft stores to make long lasting creations.
When attempting to remove Play-Doh compound do NOT use hot water or cleaning solutions of any kind. To remove Play-Doh compound from carpet or fabrics, allow it to dry completely, and then loosen with a stiff brush. It may be necessary to vacuum clean or wash with gentle soap and cold water. You may need to repeat the process in order to completely remove the Play-Doh compound.
Play-Doh slime compounds & more have a 2-year shelf life. For comparison, we conduct 3-year testing on Play-Doh classic compound. Please note, alternate compounds consistency can vary per climate conditions.
Yes, Play-Doh Slime compounds & more (Slimes, Foams, Putty, Sands) are not the same as Play-Doh Classic compound. They have entirely different formulations and should have different play expectations, relative to competitive landscape for similar alternative compounds.
Keep in air-tight container, don't store in too warm (above 104° F temperature) or too cold (below 32° F). Master cartons will be updated with temperature control markings.
Yes, recommend consumer washes hands before and after play, and thoroughly dries their hands before interacting with compound.
